Meet the Artist

The artist Dana Lynn Pettem was born in The City of the Thousand Islands on the beautiful St Lawrence River in Ontario, Canada. While always being artistically inclined, she has carried a deep appreciation for nature and the beautiful gifts it offers. Having a fascination for gem stones and wood it is no surprise she took that fascination and created art.

Dana was greatly influenced by many, and attained skills in interior design, craftsmanship and various trades. Using all she has learned from many important individuals along the way, she has attained the necessary skills and created Diseño Natural. Although all these influences have helped her develope her version of functional art, it has been her vision and dedication to creating unique yet naturally beautiful pieces that has set her apart.

Dana is a Canadian artist at heart but spends her time designing in her second home Puerto Vallarta, Mexico craving worldly inspiration. There she gets the opportunity to work with incredible cuts of exotic hardwood, while doing her best to source wood from fallen and salvaged trees. An important part of the work is being sure to harm nothing in nature. Dedicated to only using very high quality exotic wood and gem stones a modern touch with quality resins, acrylic, glass, metal and LED lights is added. The intent regarding her art is simple. Natural beauty from Mother Nature! Also a technique rarely seen with wood and glass like resins with encrusted gem stones and LED backlighting.

Dana and her team will continue to create collection after unique collection using advanced artistic techniques and the beauty of nature.

La artista Dana Lynn Pettem nació en La ciudad de las Miles Islas en el hermoso río St Lawrence en Ontario (Canadá). Mientras siempre se inclina artificialmente, ella ha llevado un profundo aprecio por la naturaleza y los hermosos regalos que ofrece. Teniendo una fascinación por las piedras y la madera no es sorprendente que ella tomó esa fascinación y creó arte. Dana estaba muy influenciada por muchos y adquiridas habilidades en el diseño, la artesanía y diversos oficios. Usando todo lo que ha aprendido de muchas personas importantes en el camino, ha adquirido las habilidades necesarias y ha creado Diseño Natural. Aunque todas estas influencias la han ayudado a desarrollar su versión del arte funcional, ha sido su visión y dedicación a crear piezas únicas pero naturalmente hermosas que la han separado. Dana es una artista canadiense en el corazón pero pasa su tiempo diseñando en su segunda casa Puerto Vallarta, México. Siendo la persona culta que es, anhela inspiración mundana. Afortunadamente, diseñar mucho tiempo con su marido Francisco en Puerto Vallarta México, tienen la oportunidad de trabajar con increíbles cortes de madera exótica. Hacer lo mejor que pueden para obtener madera de árboles caídos y salvados, lo que es muy importante estar seguros de dañar nada en la naturaleza. Dedicada a utilizar sólo gem Stones, perlas, Shells de Agua Dulce y Dana Exótica emplea un toque moderno con resinas de calidad, acrílicas, vidrio, metal y LED. La intención de su arte es simple. La belleza natural de la Madre Naturaleza complementada con iluminación mejorada. Una técnica rara vez se ve con madera y vidrio como resinas con piedras de gema encubiertas. Dana, Paco y su equipo seguirán creando colección tras una colección única utilizando sus filosofías artísticas y la belleza de la naturaleza.
